First time here because some friends recommended the place. It really is a hole in the wall but the food is surprisingly good! Apparently, they were well known in Vietnam before they came to the US. We really enjoyed the special banh cuon. It came with freshly made and rolled rice sheets filled with delicious flavorful meat and mushroom. There is also the plain rice roll option. Both were topped with crispy caramelized onions, cha lua, cha bong, and a heaping portion of blanched beansprouts, fresh basil and cilantro. The rice roll portion was enough for a not too hungry stomach. The service was quick and friendly. I will definitely recommend it to the family and will come back!
So I rushed to my normal place for banh cuon. I arrived at 3:35 pm but the owner wouldn't let me in because they close at 4:00 pm. :( I sat in the car & searched Yelp got a good banh cuốn place nearby and this restaurant turned up. So the banh cuốn was good, but the fish sauce (nuoc cham) was really salty. And they don't give much. I ordered a large and it came with 5 super thin rice rolls. The shredded pork floss went well with that dish. The Inside of the restaurant is very dated and it is not in a best area. Not sure if I would return.
Hands down one of the best Banh cuon places I've had. This is my go to spot for Banh cuon. I usually do take out, I've eaten here once. It's a hole in the wall, interior is a little dated, they prefer cash payment as they do charge extra for card payment. It does get busy here so if you do take out orders, make sure to call in advance
Came for a quick bite on a Sunday at 11am. Seated right away and ordered the Banh uot dac viet. Straight forward service so don't expect anything above that. Food came out quick and looked tasty. Gobbled it down rather quick and I'll have to admit that I was very happy with the quality of the entree. Delicious! Would come back.
The poor reviews on this restaurant completely disappoint me fellow Yelpers. LTT is one of the most magnificent holes in the wall. Our family has become regulars at this restaurant, due to having some of the best banh cuon in southern california. Stuffed, fresh bean sprouts, does super well when taken out (i bring it back to san diego with me). Sorry we dont order too much else because why would you need to? Viet coffee, fresh squeezed OJ, thai tea are great too I guess to be a little bit more objective, small caveat could include the more traditional Vietnamese atmosphere, and it's not the most fancy place. It's a family run vietnamese restaurant and you get what you expect. The servers know us and generally get orders out in a reasonable time. It's a pay at the front situation most of the time.
Real deal Vietnamese , pho, no frills in parking lot mixed with the Hispanic community. Much love. When you go into a pho joint, and even though you're Chinese in the Asian ethnicity, you get a bit nervous when the patrons and staff stare at you. But I smile and stare back cuz I know when they don't speak English well, it's always the most legit. Not gonna compare to Vietnam especially the north where you ain't gonna see hoisin or sriracha, and pho is not a big deal there, normally eat that for breakfast so good and small bowls I would do it always every morning. But there Santa Ana, pretty much as good as it gets for all! Banh cuon and cafe su da on point as well!
A total hidden gem in Santa Ana! My family comes here every so often and I just have to tag along every time! It's pretty well hidden behind a donut shop, but you should be able to find it pretty easily. There's a good amount of parking, even for a Sunday morning. Inside, you'll pretty much be able to seat yourself and the waiter will take your order. They're pretty fast, and straightforward, just like any other Vietnamese place. I got the Bánh Cuốn plate, which was filled almost entirely with the rice rolls filled with pork and mushroom. It went great with the dipping sauce and bean sprouts, and the ham was definitely a great touch. I just wish the portions were a bit bigger, considering the price of over $10.
This is the only place to eat if you are ever craving banh cuon. I always get the dach biet, or special, The rice rolls are super thin & silky and filled with wood ear mushrooms and ground pork. They have the mandatory fried shallots on top with pork floss. It comes with a side of blanched bean sprouts with slivers of cucumber, mint & cilantro sprinkled in. This is a family run business, and is a total hole in the wall. It's dated and in a small parking lot that can get full. Don't expect great service if you're dining in. They'll bring you your food and a check. But definitely expect great banh cuon here.
